New York Busted Mugshots is a private reference, not a government office or records desk. It cannot confirm custody, release anyone, provide or remove an official booking photo, accept bond, or retrieve agency records. It does not speak for any county sheriff, city department, court, DOCCS, or federal authority. An arrest can appear in more than one system, so contact the office that created or currently holds the specific file.
Choose the Office That Holds the Record
New York does not use one public booking system for every county or borough. The arresting police agency may hold the incident report, a sheriff or jail may hold the booking entry, and the court controls its case record. This site has no private records desk or public email address; use the official source links below for requests and status checks.
- For a county arrest, open the County Directory and follow that county’s link to its roster, arrest reports, and records-request path. In Bronx, Kings, New York, Queens, and Richmond, the relevant custodian may be a New York City agency rather than a county sheriff.
- For a booking record or photo, use the statewide records and lookup overview to identify the arresting or custodial agency, then send a specific request to that office.
- For a state-prison custody status, use the official DOCCS lookup. Its text search is not a public photo gallery; photo requests go through the DOCCS FOIL process.
- For a court case or disposition, start with New York Courts e-Courts and contact the court clerk that holds the file when a certified record is needed.
- For federal prison status, use the BOP inmate locator; it does not provide a routine public mugshot search.
- For immigration custody, use the ICE detainee locator. Immigration custody or a detainer is not a New York criminal conviction.
- For a wanted profile, contact the investigating agency named on that official notice. Do not approach a listed person; send tips to law enforcement.
